The Ankh weighed against Ma'at's feather — Egypt's ultimate test, captured in modern luxury canvas.
The Egyptians believed that when you died, your heart was placed on a scale opposite the feather of Ma'at — the goddess of truth, justice, and cosmic order. If your heart was lighter than the feather, you passed into eternity. If it wasn't, it was devoured.
This canvas captures that exact moment: the Ankh (eternal life) suspended beside Ma'at's feather (truth) in stunning lapis blue and warm terracotta. It's a daily reminder of the principle that ran ancient Egypt: live light, live true. Hang it above your desk, in your study, or anywhere you want to anchor that intention.

Who was Ma'at?
Ma'at was the Egyptian goddess of truth, justice, balance, and cosmic order. Her feather was used in the "Weighing of the Heart" ceremony in the afterlife — the dead person's heart was placed on a scale opposite her feather, and only hearts lighter than the feather (lives lived in truth) could enter eternity. She was the principle that ran the entire ancient Egyptian moral universe.
Is this a good gift for someone in a values-driven profession?
It's one of our top gifts for lawyers, judges, philosophers, writers, therapists, and anyone whose work depends on integrity. The Ankh-Ma'at symbolism ("live light, live true") is profoundly meaningful in those contexts. Each canvas ships with a card explaining the mythology.
What rooms work best for this canvas?
Studies, home offices, meditation rooms, and any space designed for reflective or values-led work. The lapis-and-terracotta palette pairs beautifully with walnut desks, brass accents, and warm neutral walls.
