The boy king who became the most famous pharaoh in human history. His golden mask, on your wall.
Tutankhamun ruled at nine and died at eighteen, but the gold and lapis death mask Howard Carter pulled from his tomb in 1922 became the single most recognized image of ancient Egypt. It is the face of an entire civilization. We've reproduced his iconic mask in museum-quality detail on premium canvas — the same gold, the same striped nemes headdress, the same eternal stillness.

Who was Tutankhamun?
Tutankhamun (often called "King Tut") was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty who ruled from approximately 1334 to 1325 BCE. He took the throne at age 9 and died at 18 or 19. His tomb was discovered nearly intact by Howard Carter in 1922 — the most famous archaeological discovery in history. The gold-and-lapis death mask shown in this canvas is his actual funerary mask, now housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
Where should I hang a Tutankhamun canvas?
The most powerful placements are above a sofa (the 30"–36" sizes), at the end of a long hallway (creates a focal point), behind a desk in a study, or above a console in an entryway. Its bold gold-and-blue palette works best in rooms that can hold a strong color story.
What style of interior does this work with?
It's strongest in mid-century modern, modern luxury, eclectic, and maximalist interiors. Pair it with deep navy, terracotta, forest green, or warm walnut wood. Not ideal for ultra-light Scandinavian or minimal Japandi spaces — too much visual weight for those palettes.
Is this an authentic reproduction?
The mask is based on the actual artifact — the proportions, the nemes headdress stripes, the cobra and vulture on the forehead, the false beard. It's not stylized; it's a museum-grade reproduction printed on archival canvas.
Is this a good gift for someone who loves history?
It's one of our top history-buff gifts. Each canvas ships with an included card explaining who Tutankhamun was, the discovery of the tomb, and the symbolism of the mask — making it gift-ready without additional wrapping.
